Longtime accounting professional joins United Way of the Ozarks

Marti Cashel will begin her role as VP of Finance/COO on Oct. 10

Longtime accounting professional Marti Cashel joins United Way of the Ozarks as the Vice President of Finance/Chief Operating Officer effective Oct. 10.

Cashel brings more than 38 years of accounting experience to this role ranging from for-profit organizations to higher education. In her most recent role as controller, payroll and human resources administrator at Fiocchi of America, Inc., in Ozark, Cashel prepares and interprets domestic and international financial statements for the $90 million Italian ammunition manufacturing company.

“We are excited to welcome Marti with her experienced leadership to our team,” said Greg Burris, president/CEO of United Way of the Ozarks. “Marti’s impressive background will help continue United Way of the Ozarks’ transparency as well as ensure the fiscal integrity of the agency continues.”

In her role, Cashel will serve as senior leadership to the organization in financial stewardship, legal compliance, contract management, governance, risk management, and privacy management. She will also oversee finances, donor database management, information services, human resource and facilities management functions.

Cashel has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration earned from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a major in accounting and minor in computer information systems. Prior to her role with Fiocchi of America, Inc., she served as controller for Hotel Accounting Services, accounting director with The Wooten Company, Dean of Finance with OTC, controller and office manager with Scott Consulting Engineers, project manager with Wilhoit Properties, and budget director with MSU. She is currently a member of the National Society of Accountants and is a licensed real estate broker and member of the National Association of Realtors.

As a member of senior management, Cashel will work closely with the United Way of the Ozarks’ board of directors. In addition, she will prepare annual budgets, maintain legal records and oversee human resources for the organization.
