Volunteers at the heart of United Way

Meet Katelynn Couch. She works with talent management at Commerce Bank as her “day job.” This position led her to United Way of the Ozarks three years ago… and the rest, they say, is history.

“I continue to volunteer because I enjoy learning more about the agencies partnered with United Way of the Ozarks and the programs offered by each,” says Katelynn. “My favorite part about volunteering is getting to help others in my community.”

Katelynn has participated in United Way of the Ozarks Day of Caring volunteer event, Hands on for Seniors program, and led Commerce Bank’s workplace campaign during her volunteer time with the United Way of the Ozarks. However, her latest volunteer adventure has been her involvement with United Way of the Ozarks’ Community Investment Council where she scored agencies proposals for funding.

“I think it’s amazing that United Way of the Ozarks asks others in the community to help decide where donor dollars go,” says Katelynn. “It helps to ensure donor dollars are going to the agency with the highest need in the eyes of the volunteers – not the organization.”

Katelynn continue to encourage others to find out more about United Way of the Ozarks and to get involved with their communities in some way. Volunteers are the heart of United Way of the Ozarks, and we are proud of all Katelynn does to #LiveUnited. We could not serve the most critical needs in our community without her and all our other volunteers.
